Maddy Wartes is a student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she is part of the Honors College and is majoring in Immunology on a pre-Physician Assistant track. She recently completed her sophomore year. Maddy is deeply passionate about functional medicine and has a strong interest in women's health, with a focus on understanding the body through holistic and root-cause lens. She is especially interested in how nutrition, lifestyle, and physiology work together to support long-term wellness.

Her Catholic faith is the foundation of her life and shapes how she understands health, human dignity, and the world around her. She believes in the inherent worth of every person from conception to natural death and values the body as something to be cared for with the intention of respect for its God-given design.
